Your social impact reports at the touch of a button
A project in Social Impact Tracker is a set of data that needs to be kept separate from another set of data. Smaller organisations may need only one project but larger organisations (e.g., a consortia) with various sites or linked projects, may need multiple data sets (projects).
Programmes and services are what you deliver and these may be sub-divided into activities, some that are group based or some that are one-to-one. There are no restrictions to the number of programmes or activities you can create. For example, if the Programme was ‘Healthy Nutrition’ you could have several ‘Cook It’ classes (activities) associated, each with its own information on the date(s), funder/s, participants, outcomes, facilitator(s), etc.
Social Impact Tracker is hosted on a secure server encrypted using 256 bit strong SSL encryption. The system is password protected and secure programming techniques are used to prevent unauthorised access. See Security and Data Protection
Social Impact Tracker is a self-managed database so you can make changes to options within the system; for example, there is no need for a programmer or developer to change drop down lists or define one-to-one issues. You define and manage your own data; if you want to add on modules or add additional projects, all these things can be done through the setup, depending on the subscription you have purchased.
You must have someone in overall day‐to‐day charge of the database (often called the System Manager or Database Administrator). This person tends to be a senior manager who has a good understanding of the outcomes needs of the organisation, funding criteria and other requirements. It is usually the System Manager who presets list drop-down options, indicators and outcomes and assigns users to projects.
No. There is no up-front set up fee. You only pay for the monthly or annual subscription and the modules these entail. We do recommend purchasing the additional services especially onsite training, however you also have free access to the helpdesk, online tutorials and information sheets.
Yes. Technical support is inclusive with your subscription so if something goes technically wrong with the system then please let us know and we will do our best to resolve it as quickly as possible. However, as Social Impact Tracker is an online application then we cannot be responsible with connectivity issues (e.g. internet communication) between your computer and the web server.
Data Migration would involve importing your existing data into Social Impact Tracker. We can provide you with detailed guidance on how to prepare your own data, what information can be migrated and what file format is suitable for upload. Migrating data is currently a chargeable service so contact us for a discussion and quotation.
